Most often inner ear problems such as BPPV, an inner ear infection (labyrinthitis), inflamed balance nerve or Meniere's disease. Migraine and some medicines can also cause it. Sometimes no cause is found.
When should I get urgent help for vertigo?
If it comes with double vision or vision loss, hearing loss, trouble speaking, or weakness, numbness or tingling in an arm or leg, call emergency services (112). Do not drive yourself.
